The Project
InterMountain Management is one of North America's largest hotel management and development companies and their company headquarters is located in Monroe, Louisiana.
When IMM reached out to Arris for a solution to their expanding company's needs, the design team dreamed up a modern aesthetic to provide contrast to their adjacent existing Frank Lloyd Wright-style headquarters building. The old and new buildings are connected by two pedestrian bridges that span over and through the densely planted rain garden/detention basin.
Natural light and a creating strong indoor/outdoor connection were the primary design guidelines for this project.
Along the front elevation, the building's long and low-silhoutte blends in with the surrounding lush landscaping, and large expanses of windows and storefronts flood natural light throughout the interiors. The oversized pivot door and cantilevered front canopy element through the tall, double-height lobby provide an impressive and dramatic first impression.
