500 Ellis

Located at a key corner in the City of Mountain View, 500 Ellis offers a new 201-room hotel and 34,000 square foot office building that will create an exciting and dynamic new element in the city's skyline. Placemaking, promoting pedestrian access, and preserving existing heritage trees were three important elements that drove the design during development. At six stories, the hotel complements the proposed neighboring development. Increased material articulation and transparency at the corner of National and Ellis provide a keystone for the hotel, appearing as a "lantern" greeting visitors and locals driving down Ellis Street. The public paseo, centered around the existing heritage trees, cuts through the development and offers public outdoor space for building users and visitors alike, promoting walkability and connection through the tech corridor.
