Hi-Lo Hotel
Portland, Oregon
Hospitality
The Hi-Lo Hotel is located in downtown Portland at the Oregon Pioneer Building, a local and national historic landmark. The Oregon Pioneer Building is also home to Portland’s oldest restaurant, Huber’s, which remains on the first floor. The original building was constructed in 1910, and was one of the earliest major reinforced concrete buildings in Portland. Arris Studio Architects lead the design team and stripped the neglected building back to its concrete structure, displaying exposed concrete shear walls and columns throughout the property.
The project proposed an adaptive reuse of the existing office and retail building into a 120 room Autograph Collection Hotel by Marriott. The hotel is also home to the Alto Bajo Restaurant and Lo Bar on the ground floor.
